My Work Here is Done

Family and Friends,

This has been one ride let me tell ya. But I do have information for you all!

I will be coming home tomorrow. My flight leaves at 6:30 AM and I fly into Colorado Springs at 7:00. Crazy right? I cant believe that this is really happening but it really is. I have prayed much about this and I feel lots of peace. Actually, I want to share with you an experience that happened on Sunday. On Friday president told me that it was possible I could go home but I have to have lots of approvals and it probably wont be until this coming Friday. This whole time I just felt like I needed to come home on Tuesday and yeah. But when he said that I thought darn this isn't going to happen. Then Sunday rolled around. I was in my personal study and felt that I needed to read President Eyering´s talk on fasting from this past general conference. Actually I thought about it because Seth wrote to me about it and it kept pressing on my mind. Anyway, so I finally starting reading it and the Spirit reminded me that I still hadn't paid for my fast offerings this month of July. and I just knew that if I paid my fast offerings that day, that the Lord would speed the process of my homecoming so that I could get better faster. So I paid it (its not like I didn't want to pay it its just that my memory is horrible and I kept forgetting each week and I felt that my ward was in needed of that offering). That night we talked to President and he said Hermana Grover I think you´re going to get all your approvals and you´ll probably be out by Tuesday morning! We´ll have the for sure answer Monday morning. So low and behold everything went super quick and I´ll be home tomorrow and Kamee just told me something pretty cool as well. She called to change my doctor appointment from the 30th to this Wednesday and she got me in there which was a miracle because there were no available appointments any earlier.

I know that when we are faithful to the Lord and obey Him, He will always bless us. I know He answers prayers and I know that He guides us in our lives. I know that doing the little things protects and blesses us, like keeping the commandments (offerings, tithing, sabbath day, scriptures, etc.) I know this Gospel is true and I am so beyond grateful for the opportunity I had to be a servant of the Lord for 17 months. I will be forever grateful for the answers, protection, and assurances I have received throughout my whole mission from the Holy Ghost. I know that my Heavenly Father lives and truly truly loves me.

With that I am coming home with wide arms to my loving family tomorrow! I know I wont get to see just about all of you haha but we will talk very soon! I love you all and thank you so much for your support through out my mission and life. I am eternally grateful as well for all the fasts and prayers that have been in my behalf. Have an excellent week and this will be my last email as a Missionary.

Love,
Hermana Grover

Baptism!!

Hey everyone!

So guess what?!

We had a baptism!!!! His name is Jorge del Pino! (George of the pine. that's what his name means haha I love it!) He is awesome! He lived a life...very bad lets just leave it at that. He made so many mistakes, and his family is just holding on by strings. His whole family are members but him. His baptism was the most beautiful thing I have ever seen! This man after his baptism did like a 180 degree change in like a day. It was the coolest thing ever. He was a man that joked but was always so sad and worried about his life and family and after his baptism he just couldn't stop smiling and making even more jokes and you could just see the light, hope, and peace in his eyes after he was confirmed a member and received the Holy Ghost. I am so grateful I got to see that baptism. It was the best one I've ever witnessed. I love this work and I can't wait to tell you more about him and the baptism and everything else that has happened! :) I love this work! I love the mission! I love my family!

Have a great week!

Last Transfer

Everything is good.

Just had transfers and I am staying here but I'm getting a new companion. Hermana Coronado. She is American and she is great! I knew her towards the beginning of my mission and she's turned out to be one of my good friends here! So, its going to be super fun. Glad to end it with her :) Sad news is that Hna. Johnson is leaving me :( She is heading back to Tuxtla but to be a sister training leader as well! I'm super happy that she will have that opportunity.

I am grateful for all the things I have learned up to this point in the mission. I am beyond grateful that I came and was able to serve here in Chiapas Mexico. It has been one interesting, fun, joyful, sacred learning experience of my life. I am grateful for the testimony I have built and just everything! Words can't describe how grateful I am for everything that has happened in these past 17 months. I may have baptized others and helped them but this mission has saved my life.

I love you all and hope you had a happy 4th of July! For our 4th of July we did a service project in the community and cleaned up just ONE side walk that's a block long with 6 missionaries and it took us like 3 hours. It was so dirty! and the trash was like 3 months old. It was so old the worms were dead...that's gross haha. But it was worth it. We felt so good and happy afterwards. Then just that night my companion and I walked down that sidewalk again and there was already tons of trash!!! It was literally clean for like 6 hours...that is so sad. But it still looks better and its the thought that counts right?

Anyways have a great week!

Update from the Field

Hi :)

I am doing great. Sorry for writing so late. We had to travel to Tuxtla today because we have a leader reunion tomorrow with president. But everything is fine:) This week I saw a lot of little mini miracles and loved it! It has been a while since I've been able to see these miracles. I sooo wish I had time to tell you all but I don't:( I feel like I never have time to tell you anything. But just means we get more time to talk afterwards :) transfers are next Monday and I'm probably going to get a new companion. Um, I love getting to serve these girls and the members in my ward here. The Mexican people are great. So humble and service oriented.  I have learned much from them.

Health: I'm still doing great! I think I'm going to finish my mission out strong so that's good. Anyway, just wanted to say thank you for always writing me and supporting me. I love you all very much and constantly pray for each one of you. Can't wait till I can see you all face to face!!
Love you bunches

Personal Revelation is a Necessity

Hello fambalina and friends!

This week was great! Crazy as always! I have a new temporary companion! haha my mission is insane. My comp is injured and in Tuxtla. We are waiting to hear today what is going to happen with her. But my comp right now is American. She is from Idaho Falls. Her name is Hna. Allen. She is super sweet and we are like the same person in many ways and it freaks me out. She's a cool girl though.

What I am learning right now is that in our lives, personal revelation is such a strength and necessity to live in these days. It gives us the strength each day to keep going. I love studying every morning and when I receive personal revelation I just feel so great and it is the best start to a day. I have such a strong testimony that the prophets are true and they give us words of guidance and help us come closer to Christ. The Gospel is so incredible and there is so much we can learn every single day. It truly brings the true and pure happiness in life.

My health is doing great. So no need to worry anymore. I feel like I will finish strong and happy :) learning lots and loving every moment!
Have a fantastic week and know that I love you all!

Area Moving Slow

I have learned lots this week! I'm doing well. Definitely learning how to make lots of decisions and just so many things. Health wise I'm fine! Yay

There have been So many things happening these past 6 weeks that our area has officially died hah. Sad. We have no investigators and no one really wants to listen to us when we contact. Its the weirdest thing! Frustrating to be honest. I feel like I'm back in Moctezuma where the area was super hard and nobody wanted to listen. So we just walk around for hours. Yesterday we walked for hours to all these different peoples houses and nobody was home! It was insane! Even the inactives weren't home..they're always home! Its so strange. But we have hope this week. We are just going to have to work really hard to get the area back into working shape.

I got to work with Hna. Johnson this Friday! I just loved every second! Its been the first time since the MTC. It was so fun and we worked hard. We are praying that we can be companions together for our last transfer. Probably wont happen but it'd be awesome :)

Glad the reunion was fun! Hope you all have a great week and be safe :)
