A Little Town in the Mountains and Language Improvement

Ok!

So I am in 2 areas. They are named Jobo and Capoya. Its up in a mountain and its totally sweet because its a little town. Even though its a big area, but the views are gorgeous!!! Its like exactly how I pictured Chiapas, Mexico to be! these 6 weeks will be grand.
My Spanish is getting better. On Saturday they told me I was going to give a talk the next morning...joy haha. No, but it went well. I'm actually not nervous at all to talk in front of huge groups anymore but I get nervous because of the Spanish. The work is going good. We don't have a lot of investigators but we´re finding which is good! Everything is going well. Lots of stories but I never have time to write them... :( sorry! Love my new companion. Shes awesome and has helped me sooo much with the language. We might be going to the Temple this Friday with some recent converts and do a session...How lucky am I? 2 visits in 1 month on your mission...its a dream!

This week is going to be awesome and we should have some dates for baptisms coming up these next few weeks! So excited for General Conference this next Saturday! Yay! But I think I´ll be listening to it in Spanish again. But that's okay. It'll only be better for me right.
Well this is about all I have to say for this week. There's so much that happens I just don't ever have time to write. I'm sorry. When I get home you'll be listening to me for days so don't worry haha. Oh and by the way...on the 19th I hit my 7 month mark. Wow..can you believe Ive been gone for 7 months?! Crazy huh? I'm almost at my half way mark and then its downhill from there. My companion, on the 21st just completed 13 months.. poor girl shes almost done haha. Anyways I hope everything is going well with everyone in their lives! Just know I love everyone of your letters and I'm sorry that sometimes I cant reply :( But I will always get back to you! Don't worry!

Love you all!

Transferred to Jobo

Okay well this is going to be super short because I don't have any time. But in short, I got transferred to a little town up in a mountain called Jobo. Its still in Tuxtla, but its the outskirts of Tuxtla. So yeah...that means there are 3 stakes in Tuxtla that the missionaries are in and I have been in each one of them. I know all of the city of Tuxtla. I want to get out. haha no, but its cool and this transfer will be great. My comps name is hna Cevantes. She is Mexican and super nice! It'll be good. But yeah I was in stake Grijalva, Mexico, and now Moctumatza. Hna Knight went to Tapachula... :( Ill miss her sooo so much but shell do great things in Tapachula. It was her 1st area. The average temperature in Tapachula is 120...like everyday. haha that totally stinks. I`ll probably be going there my next transfer I'm sure..But anyways all is well and talk to you next week!

The Temple

A couple days ago I woke up at like 4 in the morning and couldn't stop thinking about a family that Hna Knight and I found. We've been teaching them for a little bit and I don´t know they have a lot of potential. We want them to be baptized sooo badly but the dad is a little slower progressing. The mom wants it badly though. Anyways I just could not stop thinking about them and I was wide awake. So I was thinking about all the lessons we've given them and how we've been focusing a lot on families. Then a thought came to my mind: teach about Temples and then take them for a tour in the Temple. About a few minutes after that thought I fell asleep.
So I'm close by the Temple but the area of the Temple is the Sister Training Leaders. They give tours of the Temple to their investigators. So in the morning I told my comp about everything and it turns out that you don´t just have to be in the area of the Temple to give a tour. So we can go give a tour for them sometime this week. She agreed that's what we needed to do. So in personal study that morning I studied about Temples and wow. I think that whole waking up thing wasn't just an accident. It has been super hard in our area lately and we've just been feeling really...incapable because all of our dates keep falling and couldn't find anyone and it was just hard. Anyways so for a couple weeks we were just feeling like we weren't receiving any guidance. We just had no idea what to do anymore and every personal study seemed like we were studying the same thing and worrying about the same thing and it was getting very discouraging.
Anyways, when I studied about the Temple, I don´t know how to explain my feelings but it was so incredible. I felt so at peace and that finally my personal study was effective. My comp studied the same thing and then we shared the things we learned and felt and she felt the same as me. But something that I love that she shared with me was: When everything seems so lost and your mind is foggy and you just don't know what to do. Go to the Temple and those things will clear and you will receive guidance or strength.
It seemed like that was just perfect. Exactly what we needed to hear. So we talked to the President and he said we can actually do a session! He wants to go with us so we have a session for tomorrow at 7pm with the Pres and his wife. We´re sooo excited and just feel like that is what we need to do. Finally its like we received guidance and we were just so at peace. It was awesome.
I've learned that the 2 most important things we need to learn about in this life are the Atonement of Jesus Christ and the Temples.
So really if you ever feel lost or just don't know where to go or what to do. Go to the Temple. That should always be our goal. Go to the Temple. Even if it just means to be on the Temple grounds. Just go :)
Love you all and hope you have a great week!

Convert Jose wants to Serve a Mission

Well this week was good. I'm learning tons and everything. I'm learning how basic and simple the principles of the gospel are but yet super complex. There are so many things that you can learn about in faith or repentance. They are so simple but so many layers. Its really cool and interesting. Anyways not a lot of new things are happening. We are not having a lot of success and its super hard but we´re learning lots. But the President called me just the other day and told me that he talked to one of my converts ( José Manuel) and he said that instead of him marrying his girlfriend. He wants to go serve a mission first! Wow! Super cool news. Hes super excited about the church and just loves it. So hes going to try and serve a mission but we dont know if he will for sure yet. But that was cool.
Anyways hope you all have a great week! Love you all
